Welcome to our blog....

This is the first posting of our new blog. It is intended to keep those of us who have volunteered and worked here to assist the people of Pearlington, informed and in touch as we rotate in and out.

Many people have contributed a wide variety of talents and skills to a great team effort. We have all strived to do what needs to be done to bring immediate relief and long-term recovery to this southwestern Mississippi town so devastated by Katrina.

I'm anxious to hear news from Pearlington as my in-laws, ed and Bev, are volunteering there with Water Missions Intl. We are proud of them and all the volunteers giving there talent and time to help. I'll be reading!

Jon from Canada,

It's Tom from Minnesota (almost Canada)

I posted the story of how we got to Pearlington, how we met you, and how God led our team from Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis to this place called Pearl... something.

A team from Perdido Bay United Methodist Church in Pensacola, FL has been going to Pearlington on day trips on a regular basis. We have been carrying materials and supplies and doing general cleanup work. There is a lot to be done there and will be for a very long time. Interested in hearing from others working there or wanting to help in some way.

Jon,
I want to come back to the area with the Comfort dogs... How long do you expect the Pearlington compound to be there ? Are they closing the shelter ?
Regards,
Bettyann and the terriers.

Thank Goodness for news of Pearlington! Today, my friends Doug and Donna Case came in from WI bringing a load of supplies from the Juneau County WI area. We intend to continue the support to Pearlington and are thankful for a direct contact to the area! Please keep us abreast as the needs change at necedahparrish@mchsi.com
