Supporting the People of Pearlington

As promised, to the right of this panel, is a new .pdf file available for download.

It speaks to how we, as volunteers and friends, can support the people of Pearlington through the trials they are facing in the aftermath of Katrina.

I am confused about the Salvation Army Rebuilding Grants. Is the $10,000 for charitiable organizations helping individual families or is for the individual families themselves? Who applies for them?

The Salvation Army Grants are for individual homeowners, but need to be submitted through a charitable organization. Bob Putnam at the Resource Center in Pearlington is serving as "point man" and the money actually flows to the suppliers who will provide the materials and services. Bob and I are compiling a list of reputable suppliers who will "play ball" with integrity and good pricing. Like Warren Tidwell and Abita Springs. Any other queries may be directed to me at jonw@bconnex.net.

Hopes this helps clear things up.
